Breakfast burrito is an American breakfast item, which is prepared by wrapping different ingredients like egg, sausage, etc within a flour tortilla. This breakfast style is unique to Tex-Mex cuisine, New Mexican cuisine, and Southwestern cuisine. Chorizo, potatoes, onions, scrambled eggs, bacon and guisado are some of the ingredients used for making Southwestern breakfast burritos. A Mexican café in Santa Fa, New Mexico, has raised claims for inventing the original burritos which used to be served for breakfast back in 1975.
The café chefs stuffed potatoes and bacon within the flour tortillas and served it with cheese and chili. Mc Donald’s introduced their version of breakfast burritos in 80’s and by 90’s, it evolved into further versions. Many fast food manufacturers like Taco Bell are competing with each other to serve best breakfast burritos to their customers.
Most of the cafés around America offer lots of burrito stuffing options to the eaters. At times, they allow eaters to mix and match and order their burritos according to their taste preferences.
