Bourbon sauce may refer to sweet or savory versions of an accompaniment made with bourbon. The sweet version comprising a blended and boiled mixture of bourbon, sugar, butter, buttermilk, vanilla, white corn syrup and baking soda, is commonly served with bread pudding. The savory bourbon sauce, made by boiling a blend of bourbon, steak sauce, Dijon mustard, hot sauce and lemon, is popularly served as a barbecue or a steak sauce.
