Boiled Ham

Boiled Ham is a delicious flavored tender ham that may be served with seasonings or used as an ingredient in other recipes.

Preparation of Boiled Ham

The cleaned ham is boiled in water for a specified period of time, taking care that it is not overcooked. Piercing the ham is avoided as it will result in ugly marks on the ham and also loss of juices. Vegetables are also not cooked along with the ham as they might spoil the original flavor of the ham. Cabbages, mushrooms, carrots and other vegetables may be cooked in the cooking liquid remaining after boiling the ham. Boiled ham may be baked or breaded and cooked before serving.
