Bhaat

Bhaat is the Bengali term for cooked plain white rice. Bhaat may also be prepared with different seasonings and can be eaten as a meal. Panta Bhaat is a popular breakfast dish for the peasant community of Bengal. Panta bhaat is made by soaking leftover rice in water. The bhat is served with salt, chili and raw onions as an early morning breakfast the next day.
