  • Currywurst refers to a grilled pork sausage that is sliced and seasoned using tomato paste or ketchup mixed with curry as well as liberal quantities of curry powder. The dish is commonly sold as a fast food and generally served along with bread rolls or French fries.
  • Eisbein mit Sauerkraut or pork knuckle on sauerkraut refers to a deeply marbled meat coated with a dense layer of crunchy fat also called "crackling". The meat which is tender and smelly by nature needs to be cooked well by being braised over a long period of time. Generally it is sold after being cured and then included in recipes and had alongside Berliner Weisse a beer pairing which is light and fruity.
  • Berliner refers to doughnut prepared using sweet yeast dough that is deep fried in oil or fat, along with jam filling or marmalade usually consisting of a topping of made of powdered or regular sugar. The doughnut is called so most often in regions outside of Berlin while it is indigenously called Pfannkuchen. It is had along with Spritzkuchen or cream puffs as noon time snacks commonly and a common feature on the eve of New Year as well as carnival.
  • Doner Kebab a national Berlin Food invented by Turkish immigrants who lived in the Kreuzberg  area of Berlin in 1971.It is made by combining lamb, chicken strips or beef and many different vegetables and served in a Turkish pita with sauce.
