Beer stew refers to a wet accompaniment dish made with beer as the base ingredient.
Preparation of Beer Stew
Though any meat or vegetable may be used for making the beer stew, beef is the most popular ingredient of choice for beer stew. Stewing beef is first browned in a skillet in bacon drippings with herb seasonings such as thyme, marjoram, tarragon, and spices like black pepper, onion and garlic. Stew is made with beef broth and beer. Vegetables like potatoes are added and the stew simmered for sometime. Flour dissolved in water is added as a thickening agent to the stew.
