Beef Pie

Beef Pie is a highly preferred kind of meat pie variety, made from beef, plain flour, lard, butter, egg yolk, spices, salt etc. Beef pies use beef meat in its variety of forms, this difference is said to have its effect on taste, flavor, and the overall consistency of the pie. While some use shredded beef and go for a thick gravy consistency, certain others use beef stock cube and braising steak or stewing beef steak along with thick beef stock to give their beef pies the desired taste and structure. Also, beef pies may be made as double crust pies with puff pastry or rolled short crust pastry top and bottom, yet also may be prepared by omitting the bottom crust by using fairly large pieces of beef and vegetables in a thin broth base. Beef pies often tastes incredible with slight dry red wine flavoring and are made exotic with the use of dried herbs, spices, mustard and with a dash of lemon flavor. Served with potatoes, steamed or fried, and vegetables, beef pies are a treat worth indulging in.
