Basil Juice

Basil juice is usually extracted from the leaves of the holy basil. However, it is necessary to add a little amount of water during the extraction process as the leaves are not juicy by themselves and yield just a few drops when crushed together in a juicer. The juice is considered to be very nutritious and particularly beneficial for individuals suffering from kidney ailments. It is usually consumed as a medicine and is one of the primary health ingredients as per Indian Ayurvedic practices.

It is bright green in color with warmth inducing properties. The taste is not unpleasant  though having a slight metallic aftertaste. The juice is usually mixed with honey as well as other fruit juices instead of being consumed by itself.

The juice of the basil has been used for  thousands of years in curing ailments. It is also considered to be holy by the Indians and often added to food and drinks in order to sanctify them.
