Barbecue Tool

Barbecue Tool is a collection of utensils and equipments required for barbecuing and grilling vegetables, meats or other food items. These include a variety of tools such as the barbecue spatula, barbeque fork, barbeque tongs and so on. Most of these tools are easily available and they can be purchased singly or as a set. Barbecue kits containing various essential tools are also available at most kitchen or barbecue supply stores.

Types

The process of cooking using the barbecue method requires a number of different equipments and tools to aid in the cooking. Some of the most indispensable tools have been described below –

Barbecue Turner – This is also known as the barbecue spatula and is used to lift, turn and flip the meats on the grate of the griller.

Barbecue Hook – This is a hook with a relatively long handle, to protect the user from excessive heat from the barbecue. It is used to hook into the meat to lift or turn it easily, when on the barbeque.

Barbecue Fork – The barbeque fork is longer than other forks. It is normally a two-pronged fork meant to pierce small holes into the meat, while cooking it.

Barbecue Grill Cleaning Brush – This is a cleaning brush which is made of stiff wire. It is used to clean the grates of the grill after each use. Once the grate has cooled down, the brush is used to remove pieces of food stuck on the grilling grates.

Barbecue Tongs – These are just like any other tongs, but slightly longer to protect from excessive heat. It is used to turn, lift or flip the meat on the barbeque.

Barbecue Basting Brush – This is like other basting brushes. It is used to baste the meat with fat, meat stock or the juice being released out of the cooking pieces of meats. This too is longer than the usual basting brushes.

How to Buy Barbecue Tool

Barbecue tools can be bought at several stores and are available in sets or kits also. However, it is best to buy them individually as very often many tools are already present in our kitchens – for example the spatula or the tongs. It should also be kept in mind to opt for materials which are durable and come from a reputed brand. Silicone and stainless steel are two popular materials for barbecue tools.
