3 Day Liquid Diet

The 3 day liquid diet consists of drinking protein shakes and consuming no other food at all. The healthiest way to make this protein shake is by using artificial sweeteners, low fat milk or soy milk and whey protein powder. The diet is meant for weight loss wherein one can lose upto 10 - 20 pounds in 6 weeks as per the body metabolism.

 

 

Basic protein shake

A basic protein shake is made of low fat milk or soy milk along with whey protein powder. It is generally sweetened with artificial sweeteners. It is them made in a blender at high speed. 

 

 

Diet plan

In this diet, protein milk shake is taken four times a day along with multi-vitamins and plentiful water to keep the body hydrated. This is done for 3 days. The calorific value for these 3 days is 800 to 900 calories a day.

Slowly the calories are increased to about 1300 calories a day.

Non starchy vegetables can be taken till 2 weeks. Starchy vegetables are added to the diet between week 3 to week 6

 

Day 1 to 3

Protein shake is taken in place of meals 4 times a day.

 

Day 4 to 2 weeks

Breakfast – Protein shake with a fruit.

Mid morning – Protein shake

Lunch – Chicken breast with 2 non starchy vegetables (e.g. beans, broccoli, greens, etc)

Mid afternoon – Protein shake

Dinner – same as lunch (different vegetables can be eaten)

 

Week 3 to week 6

Breakfast – Protein shake with a fruit.

Mid morning – Protein shake

Lunch – Chicken breast with sweet potato, yam or brown rice

Mid afternoon – Protein shake

Dinner – same as lunch (different vegetables can be eaten)
