In 1975 I appeared on TV/ Talk Radio as the Nation’s First Barbeque Scientist/Expert/Personality, a first for American TV, and the public went wild wanting to ask questions about the mysterious method of cooking and the cooked food it produced called barbecue. (Barbeque with MR. BOBBY QUE), was published in 1976 which is a novel of my research condensed to teach you how to barbecue.
MR. BOBBY QUE was born and people started looking at barbecue in a different way. Today, there are many experts following in my footsteps yet so few people are aware that I started it all back in 1975 in Memphis, Tennessee. The little Black Guy from Texas called MR. BOBBY QUE; it was also a big feat for a black man being an invited guest to talk and to cook barbeque on TV. People ate barbecue, but so few people in the country did it as a pastime so I had my work cut out for me, trying to get people to barbecue at home with friends and family. Barbequing is a bring people together pastime that can turn into an event if you use my system.
