A self-taught foodie, Sean Michael Beyer spent a great deal of time on his family’s cattle ranch as a child, enjoying organic food long before the term was commonly used. He would head out to the garden and pick softball-sized beefsteak tomatoes, zucchini, green beans, potatoes, corn, you name it and then head inside and watch as his family prepare amazing meals which often featured grass fed beef raised on the ranch and butchered locally.
At the ripe old age of 8, Beyer’s mother began teaching him to cook and had him prepare a meal for the family once a week. Sean quickly took to helping plan a meal and with a bit of trial and error, learned to prepare some tasty meals for his parents.
From there, there was no turning back. Sean was a foodie! He enjoys riffing on, or creating his own recipes. Most recently, his recipe for Hickory-Smoked Country Chicken Pot Pie earned him a guest spot on NBC’s Today Show for a pot pie cook off judged by the Iron Chef himself, Bobby Flay.
