Falafel is a quintessential lebanese/meditarrnean dish. It is made of chickpeas and can be eaten as a sandwich when combined with Pita bread. See a local street vendor in Amman (the capital of Jordan) display his falafel making skills to our american gourmet traveler.

Several street vendors sell falafel in New York City too. Momoun's falafel is a little shop in the West Village, selling great $2 falafel sandwiches

Street food is food obtainable from a street-corner vendor, typically from a make shift or portable stall. While most street foods are regional, many are not, having spread beyond their region of origin. Most street food is both finger and fast food. Food is typically available on the street for a fraction of the cost of a restaurant meal. Therefore, a large portion can be eaten for a low price.

Indian street foods are famous in all over world.

Laloo Prasad Yadav has by far been the most popular politician in the country, thanks to his native wit and rustic charm that has cut across people from all walks of life within India and abroad. His one-liners have made even his most ardent critics smile. His antics to connect with the common man have drawn immense media attention.

Asia's Fast Food gives a whole new approach to fast foods.

Forget Mc D's and leave all those other high calorie fat-loaded fast foods behind.

A very crazy festival is held in Buñol, Spain each year.  The city of nearby area called Valencia is famous the world over for their gorgeous tasty and succulent oranges.

I got to thinking about one of our families favourite foods.  We often do mixed grills including chicken, pork tenderloin and maybe some fish, but always, I mean ALWAYS some type of sausages.  The kids love them and so do the "big" kids.  We grill them and cut them into bite sizes and everyone gathers round and scarfs down these appetizers.

I thought now what group does sausages belong in-street foods?  yes but no, barbecue? yes but no, so I started a group for sausages, cured meats and smoked meats.

http://www.ifood.tv/group/sausages_smoked_meatsYou can make vegetarian sausages and smoked veggies, but this will be mainly about various meats, fowl, game, and seafood.

As a special gift to you, we have created a collector edition cookbook containing recipes from the top chefs and home chefs of the world. Of course, videos for these recipes are always available at www.ifood.tv but we wanted to give away these gems in easily forwardable email format so that you can share the joy of cooking with your friends and family.

On Tuesday, we went to Mohammed Ali Road In Mumbai. I'm very fond of the Jama Masjid area in Delhi for it's awesome Mughlai food...Md. Ali Road is its equivalent in Mumbai. We relished some of the best Tandoori fare.

On the eve of Eid, we went to Jama Masjid (Delhi) at midnight. As expected, the area was brightly lit, the atmosphere was festive. The ambience outside Jama Masjid has always intrigued me. I've been there quite a few times, especially for inexpensive but absolutely authentic Mughlai food. This time I managed to click a few decent pics, of course, only after I had eaten some extraordinary non veg fare. The trip brought back memories of the visits we made to the walled city whenever we wanted to gorge on kababs n tikkas.

When Ganesh asked what do Thais eat for breakfast?  I got to thinking about this not so easy to answer question.  It isn't like the US where it's cold cereal and milk, bacon and eggs, or say pancakes unless in a Bangkok Western Hotel.  Actually all over Southeast Asia breakfasts are often of a savoury or non sweet choice.

In Thailand it is common to grab breakfast and most meals from street cooks.  They place your food in small plastic bags, or you can sit on low small stools and eat at child-size tables nearby.

We usually head to SE Asia in Dec/Jan as it is Winter and dry then with temps averaging mid 80's.  We sort of spur of the moment decided to pop over to Cambodia and Thailand in a couple of weeks.

I am buying an HD video cam so there will be lotsa videos to share with you all.  I'll have my favourite Nikon D80 with me plus a couple good Nikor lenses.  (Some have asked me about my photos and equipment.)  If any have suggestions on which video Cam to buy please let me know.  It must be compatible with Vista and I prefer HD.

I am really looking forward to our first visit to Cambodia and the antiquities.  Roaming about the wats and temples will provide many photo opportunities.

We'll be mainly in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap.
