Feast in the Middle East
Blanche is a television host/personality/foodie from the San Francisco Bay Area, having worked for CNN, PBS, and ABC. Her latest project, Feast In The Middle East, is a collection of cooking webisodes and blogs featuring authentic Middle Eastern recipes passed down to her from generations. Blanche offers recipes, cooking tips, exotic ingredient information, and family stories based on her cookbook in progress. You won’t find these recipes in culinary school or in any cookbook, as they have traveled mainly by word of mouth. These are rustic, easy to make recipes that use whole fresh ingredients, with a few shortcuts she has developed for the modern cook. Blanche wants to demystify Middle Eastern food and culture, and feels there is no better way to do that than around the dinner table. As an Arab American, a journalist, and a passionate home cook, Blanche feels she is an ideal conduit for blending the east and west through food. Her hope is that as more people learn how to feast like they do in Middle East, there will be more mutual understanding, and thus peace in the Middle East.

About
Blanche is an Arab American born and raised in San Francisco. As a mother of two she was always looking for ways to pass on her heritage to her children and to others interested in the Middle East--hence Feast in the Middle East was born. This project fused her interest in both food and communication. You can check out her cooking pilot on her You Tube channel at youtube.com/blanchetv, and read her food blogs on feastinthemiddleeast.com. Look out for her cookbook featuring her family recipes soon!
