Dim Geefay
About
I was born and raised in Thailand where food is a national passion. As a child I loved spending time in the kitchen helping my mother prepare the family meals. In time, I learned how to prepare the recipes that my mother had learned from her grandmother Years later I met and married a Peace Corps volunteer and began a new life in America .
Back then, finding Thai ingredients in a small American town was not easy. So I would travel to San Francisco and Los Angeles whenever I could to stock up on the Thai ingredients. I worked hard to keep Thai food on the dinner table. A lot has changed since then. Asian stores and supermarkets are now on the corners of even smaller towns and finding all the ingredients to cook an authentic Thai meal is now an easier task. Today, I am determined that every person who loves eating Thai food should also be empowered to prepare it for themselves and their families. So in 2004 I produced a series of Thai Cooking shows that aired on the American Life TV Network. The shows were a hit and attracted a loyal following. When the season was over I decided to continue bringing the art of Thai cooking to the public through my website (www.thaifoodtonight.com). Now anyone can access my "How To" videos and watch me and my daughter Cathy cook up some of the most popular Thai dishes.
