Yes NZ is producing some nice whites. Even living in California wine country we appreciate and enjoy wines of the rest of the world! Even India is making some fine red wines (forget the white and sparklers), Thailand is also under guidance making quite drinkable wines, and so is China under the French.
Such as Slovnia, Croatia, Montenegro, and Bulgaria are also quickly coming back into world class wine making. Mike Grgic/Grgich has a lovely winery ib Tristinac, Croatia but it is pricey and sells mainly to the German tourists at $25 a bottle, where as locally produced wines are $3-$5 and awesome.
