Ya i had similar experience in Goa. Ppl there are very proud of this home bred drink. But you gotta develop a taste for it. I remember when we first tried it, we just couldnt wash it down, we actually asked for sprite to disguise the taste, the servers were so offended, they kept getting us more versions of feni, in hope we would actually like that. It was sweet of them...but i never could manage to develop a taste, but then i have trouble finishing a bottle of beer too :-D
