In 1982 there was a lot going on in New York, Hip Hop was exploding break dancing as well as crack cocaine. Growing up in the middle of drug transactions and the disintegration of black families. Big Shakes mother made arrangements for him to be relocated the summer of his 6th grade year to Ocean Beach Fire Island which is 20 miles of the coast of Long Island. Big Shake went to work for gentleman name Giovanni Palmero world renowned chef and restaurant owner who would shape Big Shakes life for ever. Big Shake went to work in the kitchen learning from some of the top chef’s in the world including working side by side on a daily basis with his mentor Giovanni Palmero. At the age of 15 Big Shake had his first opportunity to head his own kitchen “ CJ Palmero’s” a authentic Italian eatery located on Ocean Beach Fire Island. He would spend 3 more years under the direction of his mentor before he would move to another restaurant to showcase his talents. Fast forward 18 years later Big Shake’s name is no stranger in the personnel chef arena. He has cooked for Liz Claiborne, ”fashion icon” Mel Brooks “actor” Billy Idol “Musician” Andre Risen “NFL Football player,” Too Short “ Musical icon” and a host of others. In 2007 Big Shake has created a food manufacturing company called “Fry Factor LLC” which host some the chef’s creations.
