Derek Allen and Philipp Lomboy are longtime friends with a passion for food and cooking. Derek is a caterer and chef, having studied under the Le Cordon Bleu Program at the California School of Culinary Arts. Philipp is an entrepreneur, trainer, and marketer with a love of most things geeky. So why do we call our show Burnt Fat? Many people have asked us that question and our response is always the same: because the two things that most great food have in common is that to some degree it's burnt and has a lot of fat. Think seared foie gras, grilled ribeye, crispy bacon, crème brûlée. While we love eating and cooking, we have a passion for sharing our experience with others. While many food shows focus on sharing only recipes, we wanted to go further. We created Burnt Fat as a way to help educate people in techniques that could be used across all recipes - essentially a mini culinary course. AND we wanted to do it in a fun way.
