World Record: Giant Vegetables
The British Royal Bath & West showground, near Shepton Mallet, held its renowned giant vegetable contest late last year.
The record breaking vegetable was a marrow weighing in at 113 lbs or 65 kilos.
The vegetable of monstrous proportion had to be carried to the display table by two grown men.
The marrow grown by Ken Dade, from Norfolk achieved the world record by outstripping the earlier record by a whopping 3 kilos.
It did not look like a likely pick for the dinner table but if you are a marrow and you just won the world record, would you care…??!
Massive cucumbers, huge beetroots and gargantuan pumpkins were all present at the show which was attended by nearly 30,000 people.
If you love vegetables…you sure would love this!

Considering that the people were not too cheerful about the soggy summer they had, the competitors sure had a reason to be cheerful as the vegetables at least benefited from the weather.
