Will biofuel production raise the price of corn tortillas?

With all the talk of sustainability with regards to food do you think the rising production of ethanol in the U.S. and Canada will drive up the price of corn tortillas (and other corn products)?  There was a time not too long ago where we had more corn than we knew what to do with here in the US.  Now with the rising costs of auto fuel, more and more research is going into using biofuels.  As we do more research and ethanol (a biofuel created from corn) production on the rise our surplus of corn at the end of every harvest has dwindled to nothing. Another factor is urban sprawl - more buildings for housing, work, and play are taking over where once were farms.  Here in Jax it costs over $4.00 for a gallon of milk (they say because of the rising cost of fuel the transportation costs went up) - Will that $2.00 pound bag of tortillas soon be $5.00?  Your thoughts?

There is a likelihood. But you know that corn is subsidized in the US. So it will be more a play on subsidies. As long as congress continues with the subsidies we should be OK.

This will be interesting to track over the next few years. I know that sounds odd and like a lot but I'm a 100% geek and these kinds of things are interesting to watch to me...
