Why is Masala Chai good for your health?

 

One cup of authentic Indian masala chai is enough to make you forget coffee.

Masala chai has typically 6 spices added to it - Cardamom, Cinnamon, Ginger, Nutmeg, Clove and Peppercorn.

 

It has been proven that black tea is full of antioxidants and is good for health. But the 6 spices used in masala chai make it extra special. Here is a very short summary of their health benefits.

 

Ginger – Aids digestion and is effective in curing cold, flu and body aches.

Cinnamon – Helps cure indigestion, heartburn and lowers blood pressure.

Nutmeg – It is warming and is used to cure insomnia and other sleep disorders.

Clove – This one helps fight cold and flu too.

Cardamom – Cures indigestion and other digestive problems.
