What is it that gets you interested in a particular book from among the hundreds of books that you happen to go by? Here is a compilation of a few questions that will help you get your answers:
1) Is it the cover?
A striking cover is definitely a good move to attract a reader to a book. One look at the cover and you must want to pick up the book immediately. Therefore, yes, an interesting cover makes the cut.

Once again, there is no doubt that a good cookbook should have a good body of content, in terms of the recipes, language in which the recipes are written, flow of the language, etc.
3) Is it the Pictures?
A picture speaks a thousand words and you must agree to this too. So, is it true that you buy a cookbook for the larger-than-life photographs? May be yes, may be not but good-quality, colorful pictures, depicting the luscious recipes definitely help sell a cookbook.
4) Is it the author?
There is no doubt that a gorgeous author like Nigella Lawson would want you to rush to the bookstore and get your hands on her latest publication but is that all? When you hear about what happened to Gordon Ramsay's recent cookbook, you are forced to think that a famous author may not always hold the key to a good cookbook.
