What are Spice Extracts

Spice extracts are natural, pure and consistent in flavor, aroma, and color. The advantages of quality spice extracts are widely recognized. These include:

- Uniform, and wholesome flavor of the spices
- Consistent color
- Free from microbial contamination
- Long shelf life

By contrast, dry spices have disadvantages. They sometimes have poor and irregular variations in flavor and color. Color, texture and flavor of dry spices are also affected if not stored properly.

Spice extracts offer an excellent means to add natural concentrated flavor to your favorite recipes. They are produced by extraction and distillation and represent the true essence of the spices and can replace spice powder with equal or better flavor characteristics.

Spice extracts guarantee superior quality of flavor and aroma. They are complete and balanced, consistent and standardized and are free from contamination.  Extracts provide the flavor of the source spice, but in a more consistent, easy-to-handle form.

In marinades, using spice extracts is more advantageous because they give a much quicker flavor absorption.

Finally, spice extracts lets you customize the spices according to individual taste. Say, for example, you like garlic in your curry but your friend/spouse hates it. You then just make one pot of curry and add Garlic extract in just your portion.
