Wendy, my best friend just said her vows this spring, and what a moment it was! Her mom had been fretting about what to serve with a Wedding Cake! But at that moment, to serve a wedding cake and what would be its best complementary dish was the first thing on our minds. But the journey to find what goes best as a side dish while serving a wedding cake is absolutely hilarious!

All we knew about a nice White Wedding was that to serve a wedding cake is the sweetest moment, (no pun intended!) But to serve a wedding cake alone is not the ideal party menu! So, we began our quest to find the perfect dishes, drinks and works which go best together while serving a wedding cake.

And by the end of all the “how to serve a wedding cake with the perfect appetizers/dishes” we had found tons of brilliant wine, food ideas that would go well while serving a wedding cake. Here are a few of the ones that we chose to offer while serving a wedding cake, for Wendy’s wedding, and now for mine too!

Iceberg Salads- Since, the weather was on our side, fresh fruits like strawberries, blueberries, grapes, pineapples and my favorite! Kiwis were the perfect starts to side while serving a wedding cake. They acted as the perfect add-ons to serve a wedding cake and were delicious!

Dips- Cold and Hot finger foods were other good ideas that struck us when we were wondering what to serve a wedding cake with. It has to be kept in mind, that usually the Wedding cake is the beginning to the party or the final dessert. Either ways, the guests have to be offered yummy finger foods that can complement the idea to serve a wedding cake. Go for finger foods like simple cheese crackers or cheese cubes with nice tangy or creamy dips.

Traditional Wedding reception eats- Since, to serve a wedding cake is a nice old traditional concept, it is a very safe and good idea to go with turkey, lean meats and cornbread grub when it comes to the real meal to serve a wedding cake with.

While serving a cake you cannot forget the Champagne! The Sparkly bubbly is the best friend of the perfect club up for a serving of a wedding cake. Other wines like red wines are also a great idea to serve a wedding cake.
