The side effects of green tea extracts are very rare and most of their disadvantages are due to the elevated levels of caffeine levels present in the green tea. These side effects can easily be avoided by cutting the dosage of green tea extracts in half.

 

Increased Heart Rate

Green tea extract capsules may increase the rate of heart beats or they may even cause irregular heart beats. When you consume a high dose of green tea extracts you are prone to greater possibility of irregular heart beat. For bringing your heart rate to normal you must relax by sitting still and then close your eyes while you listen to soft music. You must breathe deeply all this while and you may also try a hot bath with some calming aroma like lavender. Consult your doctor if this does not seem to help.

 

Nervousness

In too high of a dose of green tea extracts capsules or sensitivity to caffeine, you may experience restlessness, increased brain activity and anxiousness. As a result of this you may also feel sleeplessness. Relax yourself to calm your nerves hydrate your body by drinking lots of water. You can also slow your brain activity by drinking a glass of wine.

 

Dizziness

The caffeine content in green tea capsules can also cause dizziness. You are more likely to feel dizzy when you consume green tea extract on empty stomach. This feeling can be diminished by having a healthy and hearty meal.

 

Upset Stomach

Yet another side effect of green tea extract capsules is that they can cause upset stomach and even result in diarrhea, especially in those individuals who have a highly sensitive stomach. To relieve diarrhea caused by green tea, you will have to take an anti-diarrhea medication.
