Ways to Eat Small to Lose Weight!

Eat Small” is advice that our dieticians and weight loss experts often give.  But how to effectively eat small is something that many of us are still trying to master.  Small mistakes that we make can inadvertently cause us consume more, keeping that stubborn weight on. 

 

 

Buy Less

Dr. Virginia Bola of Diet Attitude gives some valuable tips on the ways to eat small. They really work! According to her, when you go shopping don’t get tempted by the ‘buy big and save money’ type of offers. Every shopkeeper will tell you to take a bigger quantity of something to save money. When I wanted chocolate cake a shop keeper succeeded in making me purchase the 1 pound one instead of the ½ pound one because there was big discount on the bigger cake. I was happy that I saved money and went home with that. But as I could not preserve the creamy stuff for long, I consumed the entire thing in a little longer than just 1 day! So, the net effect was along with a fat wallet, I was helping in retaining my abdominal pot! I should have bought the smaller cake when loosing weight was a priority.

 

Serve On Small Plates

Eat on small plates. Are you aware that when you serve the same quantity food on a smaller plate rather than bigger, the smaller plate serving looks like more food? If the food reaches the edges you’ll feel the serving is really huge. In other words when you eat in small plates, you eat small without feeling that you’ve eaten less.

 

Make Morsels Out Of Your Food

I really don’t like this method but it does seem to work for those who want to lose weight. Cut up your food into small pieces, not bite-sized chunks, and eat them slowly one at a time. You’ll get so vexed by the entire process that you won't want any second helpings. But be careful. I don’t recommend this strategy when your body really needs food, because your body could get deprived of essential nourishment.

 

Order a Child’s Plate at Restaurants

Don’t indulge in an all-you-can-eat Chinese buffet when you go out! Also order a child's plate that will make you eat less.

People are now body conscious these times. A lot of us create our own ways of losing weight and or getting that fit shape. I am reminded again of these steps as I have learned them in my Aunt. =)
