Ways to Munch Chocolate Guiltlessly

Planning to munch chocolate in a big way this Halloween? I could never think of a better time than this to tell you to munch chocolate to your heart’s content without feeling a wee bit guilty! Food Psychologist Susan Albers has some great tips on how you can indulge in chocolate without the fear of putting on excess weight. Here’s how you do it.
When you eat something with your heart and soul, you satiate yourself fast and with a lesser quantity of it. Practice mindful eating of chocolate so that you eat less of it. Take the chocolate bar and weigh it, notice its color and texture, enjoy the crinkling sound of the wrapper as you unwrap it, smell the chocolate to your heart’s content and concentrate on your feelings when you do so. If you’re getting guilty thoughts, just let them come and go. Don’t suppress. Put the chocolate in your mouth and experience it completely.
You might ask what does mindful eating do. Well do you know why we keep popping in tasty food every now and then when we eat it mindlessly? Yes, you’ve guessed it right ...we do that because we crave for the experience over and over again. When you eat something mindfully, your senses are getting fully satisfied with the single experience. So you don’t crave for the experience over and over again. So go ahead and munch chocolate guiltlessly ...but mindfully.
