Water bottle more expensive than gas !

Yesterday we were hanging out in a local bar in our neighbourhood. After a couple of drinks, we got a bottle of water. The bartender hands us this bottle - 375 ml of bottled goodness (plain water !!) for 5 dollars. So we did the math. A gallon of voss holy water = 50 dollars, a gallon of gas in california = 3.5 dollars !. We were aghast.

Well, we kept the bottle as a "memento" :-)

Happy new yrs folks !!

We found some places charge more for a bottle of water than a beer in Thailand! Crazy, eh? I kept a couple of waters with me every day as it was silly to pay $2-$4 for a bottle of water. They were free at our hotels. Shanti/Mary-Anne

Water in most U.S Airports is also expensive. A 350ml one ranging anywhere between $3-$5. When traveling, we buy a pak of 24 -32 bottles at a local convenience store and refrigerate them in the hotel room (as most rooms in a hotel come with a fridge) and carry them while sight-seeing.
