Valentines Day Gift Ideas for MenI read an interesting article about giving gifts on Valentines. It is difficult to choose gifts for this occasion because you will have to be careful about what it conveys. It can be tricky. The meaning of your gift also varies according to the seriousness and the type of relationship you're in.

So here is a simple guideline..

Casual Date You've gone out with her a few times, the level of commitment is low, and you're simply having a lot of fun. What do you buy her? This situation is the trickiest of them all because the wrong gift can take the relationship from casual dating to a full-fledged commitment. Buy the usual card and flowers. It ok to give that at this stage. If the relation seems strong and shows a future you can gift her any form of evening wear to show you put thoughts into it.

Women generally appreciate that you spent some time selecting a gift. So it's a good idea to listen to what she says, pick up on a hint she may mention in passing, and then surprise her with it

Occasional Romance Choosing the right gift will hopefully guide the intensity of the evening and make it a night to remember. Buy her Lingerie or a nice dress she can wear to the dinner.

Married Man You don't have to buy a gift to show commitment but it can be really hard because eventually you do run out of ideas. Basically the gift has to be expensive and must have a romantic angle to it. Expensive jewelry  works very well.

Here is an all time favorite list of gift ideas ..

Flowers, live plants work well too.

Candy especially chocolate.

Lingerie for her and underwear for him.

Jewelry

Romantic getaway

Perfume or Cologne.

I appreciate that my husband always remembers Valentine's Day, BUT what means he most to me is that he often buys a bouquet of flowers for me JUST because he loves me. :-) He says when he sees extra beautful flowers he thinks of us. I think that is the best gift of all for "no special" reason. I bought a beautiful Italian jacket for Steve this Valentine's Day. Kind of a funny story - I had taken in some not needed items to the hospice shop and passed by a rack of men's clothes-spotted a jacket that looked so much like something Steve would wear. It looked to be the right size and te gal who manages this Cancer Hospice shop searched and found the size in the pocket European 52-perfect his size. Now it looked so nice - like new, so I bought it. I thought I on't tell him where I bought it...................Well I gave it to him-not wrapped up just on the wooden hanger, and he said hummmmmm where did you get this I had one like it and really didn't want to give it away but I was thinning out my closet................Yep, I rebought his donated jacket. LOL He laughed and was pleased as he really did love it and was glad to have it back. It did REALLY look like him. LOL Shanti/Mary-Anne
