1.Chocolate Mint Drink
Ingredients:1 cup hot milk, 1/2 cup chocolate malt powder, 3 cups cold milk, 1 tsp vanilla, 1/4 tsp salt, 1/4 tsp peppermint extract, 1 pint vanilla ice cream.
Method: Mix the hot milk and the chocolate malt powder and stir until the malt powder is completely dissolved. Add the cold milk, vanilla, salt, and peppermint extract; refrigerate to chill. Add a pint of vanilla ice cream and stir until frothy, before serving.
2. Buffet Carrot Casserole
Ingredients: 12 carrots, 1/4 cup all-purpose flour, 1/4 cup butter, 1/4 tsp tsp dry mustard, 1/8 tsp celery salt, 1/8 tsp black pepper, 1/2 lb sliced , 3 cups bread crumbs, 1 medium onion, 1 tsp salt and 2 cups milk
Method: In a large saucepan or large deep skillet, melt the butter, add the onion and cook until transparent. Stir in the flour, salt, and mustard. Slowly stir in the milk while stirring constantly. Cook until smooth. Add the celery, salt and pepper. Stir in the sliced carrots. Grease a baking dish and make alternate layers of the carrots and the cheese. Sprinkle the bread crumbs over the top of the casserole. Bake in a 350 degree oven until the crumbs are browned, about 25 minutes.
3. Apple Spice Cake
Ingredients: 1 egg, 1 cup flour, 1/2 cup nuts, 1/2 cup raisins, pinch of salt, 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg, 1 tsp soda, 1/2 stick butter
Method: Mix together 2 cups chopped apples, 1 cup sugar and let stand for 15 minutes. Then add all the ingredients, pour into a greased pan and bake at 350 degrees for 25 to 30 minutes. serve and get delicious with friends!
4. Walnut Ketchup
Ingredients: Walnut, salt, anchovies, drachms of mace, black pepper, cloves, horseradish.
Method: Pound the walnuts; strew some salt upon them, and let them stand a day or two. Strain them and put half a pound of anchovies. After that boil them untill they are dissolved. Then strain the liquor, and to every pint add two drachms of mace, the same quantity of cloves, some black pepper, one ounce of black pepper, and a little horseradish. The delicious Walnut ketchup is ready to be served.
5. Onion Mushroom Chuck Roast
Ingredients: 3 lb chuck roast, salt&pepper to taste, 1 pkg dry onion soup mix, 1/2 lb fresh sliced mushrooms.
Method: Sprinkle salt and pepper as per your taste over the chuck roast. Then chafe some dry onion soup mix and top the roast with the sliced mushrooms. Wrap in foil, seal, and put the roast into a 350 degree oven for 2 hours. Serve hot and enjoy.
