Celebrity diet fads are followed by the general public with avid interest with most of them going overboard in trying to imitate them. However, few of us realize the foolhardiness of our efforts as the famous personalities commit one diet fraud after another. There is little or no scientific value attached to most of the celebrity diet regimes that get to be publicized. The top 5 celebrity diet frauds revealed that each of them was a diet fraud cleverly disguised to appear as hard scientific facts while all they did was to deceive the celebrity worshipping unsuspecting public. The ‘Sense About Science’ brigade known as SAS in short tried to find out more about such celebrity diet fiascos.

Silicone Bracelets - The UK group of the rich and famous comprising of David Beckham, the footballer and Kate Middleton, the would be princess of Britain swear by their hologrammed  silicone bracelets which are supposed to enhance their fitness and energy levels. The SAS disagrees dismissing the claims completely.
     
  2. Detox - Super model Naomi Cambell made it a point to reach out to her fans via the Oprah Show where she revealed the effectiveness of detoxing her body. The celebrity diet which requires the individual to subsist on maple syrup, lemon juice and cayenne pepper does nothing for the body feels the SAS.
     
  3. Charcoal - Pop star Sarah Harding recommends rubbing charcoal all over your food before eating it as it absorbs the bad elements thereby saving you from harmful chemicals. Not true at all iterates the SAS claiming that the body is quite capable of removing the toxic products by itself.
     
  4. Sperm - But the cage fighter Alex Reid has made it a habit to reabsorb his sperm which is full of nutrients he says. It helps him to retain his energy just before a fight he claims but the SAS thinks of it as a bizarre instance of celebrity diet.
     
  5. The Facts - The SAS reveals that detox diets are a myth while energy can come only from food and adequate exercise.

It is important to remember that there are no shortcuts when it comes to health and resorting to fads can prove to be dangerous for your body.
