These top 10 foods with lean protein is perfect for anyone who follows extreme workout regimes. Given that my husband is in the army and struggles everyday with an excruciating physical routine I had no choice to include a number of these foods in his diet regularly and trust me it helped!:-)! - Fat-free or low-fat milk cheese: Cheese! Yummy cheese need not be pushed away when you are working out anymore. It is an awesome source of lean protein and should be included in your diet if you are aiming for a lean, trim body. There is nothing like it if you can get your hands on cheese that is made from non pasteurized milk given by cows that are organically grass-fed. The fat in such cheese is very healthy as it also has omega-3 fatty acids other than protein like casein. Add them to your sandwich, salads or pastas.
- Fish – All kinds of fish make for a good source of lean protein. The Ocean, lake or river caught lean fish like salmons, trouts, tuna, orange roughy, perch, flounder, trout, bass, sea bass, halibut, snapper, grouper, sole, haddock, cod and so on should all be part of a good high protein diet. Try and get your hands on wild fish and not farmed fish as the real benefits of having fish can only be derived from the former. - Turkey – Another good example of white meat poultry is Turkey. They are an extremely good source of protein and you need not confine their consumption to Thanksgiving alone. - Lean beef – Choose beef from cow that has been grass fed . You can also choose other red meat like bison and lamb to this list. - Eggs – Egg is an excellent whole food which is a very rich source of lean protein. You can eat them cooked or raw and you can have them everyday!
- Low fat or skimmed milk and yogurt-It goes without saying that milk and yogurt are good sources of protein.
- Lean pork (tenderloin) – Be it Pork chop, Pork loin or tenderloin, Ham, Ground pork, or Bacon, the protein content in this food is commendable. Tenderloin is the best choice. This is reason enough to include this meat in a low protein diet
- Beans- For vegetarians, beans is a good source of lean protein and soya beans is high in the list. White Beans, Lentils Split peas and Pinto Beans are all awesome sources of protein.
