The importance of foods for Purim can never be underestimated. Purim is like Jewish Halloween, no it is a combination of Mardi gras and Halloween. Yes costumes, food and drinking are all associated with Purim Celebration. Hamantashen and kreplach are exclusive Foods for Purim. Queen Esther cookies

 

Whisk butter and sugar to a smooth consistency, add flour slowly to it, then mix salt, baking soda, vanilla, grated peel and lemon juice. Use Purim figures like Haman hats, rattles and Queen Esther to cut the dough. Bake it and place sugar icing on them and use colored candies to decorate the cookies.

 

Maamoul

 

This pastry is very soft and uses two filling; both the nut filling and date filling are tasty. Also while baking you should not let the cookies turn brown and also allow them to cool before sprinkling confectioner’s sugar.

Foods for Purimare little different, here you can see this recipe using dates, semolina, nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger, cloves, honey and oil. Honey mixed with spices and semolina imparts a special flavor to this recipe.

Boil poppy seeds, sugar honey, and salt to bring it to soft ball stage. Add nuts and raisins to it and cut them into diamonds.

 

Purim patties

 

This is a simple preparation that uses only three ingredients that include Chinese noodles, unsalted peanuts and chocolate chips.  Combine the peanuts and noodles in a bowl and pour the melted chocolate over this mixture. Place a teaspoon and cookie sheet and bake.
