Top 10 dieting myths can be a real help for anyone who has spent endless months on a diet and Diet myths which can make spoil your weight loss efforts strict exercising routines just to lose some extra flab from their body…however, they find very little results. Breaking the dieting myths is very essential, if you really wish to lose weight from your body.


1. Short term weight loss: Most people starve themselves in a short span of time and soon they become tired. They think for a short term basis – like losing weight in 2 months or 4 months…instead, it is better to think about making changes in lifestyle.


2. Celebrity diets work best: This is a myth that such diets help to lose weight faster and are effective. Such a diet is not planned keeping in mind your body structure and lifestyle, hence it is not going to do your body any good. Choose low fat carbohydrate diets instead.


3. Assumptions of strict diet: You might think that you are following a diet very strictly, but you are actually not. There are many times when you are snacking and munching and feel like hiding the fact. Assuming to be on a diet can be really very harmful when you are actually not.


4. Not including exercises: Dieting and restricting calories will not work until you exercise. Many people stop exercising once they start a diet.


5. Banning some specific foods: I have seen women ban their favorite foods for life because it contains fats. This will not help you to maintain your balanced weight.


6. Skipping meals to lose weight: This is a very common myth. We tend to believe that if we skip our breakfast or lunch we will be able to drastically cut down calories which will help to lose Do not meausre your weight frequently - it does not help but slows down your weight loss missionweight. This is a common myth which can delay your process of losing weight.


7. Health foods are low in calorie: This is a common mistake made by all of us. We start thinking that healthy foods have less calories and keep shopping for them. You might love to gorge on packs of classic healthy foods which are rich in nuts, avocados and olive oil…this is enough to spoil your days of strict diet.


8. Weighing everyday: It is a good idea to keep a track of how much weight you have lost, but dieticians believe that if you keep weighing yourself too often, it makes your weight loss difficult. You start getting to feel that with so many restrictions on food, you are still not able to lose enough weight.


9. Forgetting that drinks have calories: Drinks contain calories and most people forget this. Juice is certainly healthy but it contains enough calories. If you are having too much of juices throughout the day, it is also a way of taking in calories.


10.  Large portions – People tend to eat large portions when they are on a diet. It is a myth because you are eating too much and whatever calories you had avoided throughout the day is going into your body together. This way you are cheating yourself.
