Tom Hanks Diet

A look at Tom Hanks Diet and you know this guy is damn passionate about acting. For instance, for the 2000 movie Castaway, (which won him an Oscar Nomination) he followed a regimented diet to knock off 55 pounds to suit into the role of Chuck Noland who endures many hardships to get off the deserted island, where he landed following a plane crash.
Some of the highlights of his diet during the Castaway days include:
- No Coffee Only Tea: Tom admits that he was addicted to latte and gulped down about half of gallon of milk. Switching to tea helped him to stay contented and also aided him in following the strict weight loss goals that he has developed for himself.
- Lots of water: Tom gulped down gallons of water to save himself from hydration because he followed a very calculated exercise regime.
- Natural Food: Tom relied on natural foods for weight loss. He had lots of vegetables and fruits throughout the day to curb the pangs of hunger.
This diet coupled with proper exercising regime aided him in big way to lose weight.
Tom Hanks Diet or Castaway Diet
The diet which got famous later as the Castaway Diet ( pun intended ) was something on which Chuck Noland is known to have survived during his four years on the deserted island ( Read Tom Hanks).
The Tom Hank’s diet or Castaway Diet usually consisted of coconut milk, coconuts and crabs. Many spoofs were developed around this diet and they all highlighted the benefits of the coconuts and crab diet. Those spoofs concluded that:
- Coconut milk is the greatest laxative ever known to man.
- You can really stave off 40 pounds by having coconuts and crabs.
- A coconut shell is hard to crack and you cant just break it by hurling against the wall.
