The 10 Worst Shopping Days

Sometimes even the best supermarket can be a nightmare. Supermarket managers across the country developed this list of the worst days to go grocery shopping. Here are the days when your store may not be as well-stocked and well-staffed as it should be:

#1 Labor Day weekend

#2 Sundays

#3 Saturdays

#4 Memorial Day weekend

#5 Afternoons between 4 p.m. and 7 p.m.

#6 Thanksgiving Eve

#7 The day after a major disaster Such as an earthquake, tornado, hurricane or snowstorm.

#8 Christmas Eve

#9 Fourth of July Especially if it falls on a weekend.

#10 The day after Thanksgiving

They forgot "paycheck day"!  I don't know how it is in the states but over here it seems like everyone gets their paycheck at the same time (by the end of the month) and the 3-4 days following are shopping nightmare!  I'm lucky to get my paycheck abit earlier and finish my shopping before the chaos!   I prefer shopping on Saturday morning when people are still sleeping! :)

Deli Guy says :

If the supermarket is in a business district (i.e. offices, municipal buildings, etc.) do NOT shop at lunchtime...typically between 11:30 and 2:00. Nothing annoys the other customers (or us) more than someone doing their weekly shopping at 12 noon on a weekday, when others are just trying to grab a sandwich or whatever and get back to their job in the alloted time. If you only have a half hour for lunch, do you want to be stuck behing the person ordering "a half pound of roast beef, a quarter pound of ham ..."? I think not. A little common sense goes a long way...unfortunately, most customers are oblivious to it.
