The Varli Food Festival NYC 2011 A path-breaking event awaits the New York City residents, which is sure to take the visitors on a culinary journey that is going to be one of its kind. The Varli Food Festival, an unmatched journey of Indian culinary traditions, is being organized by Varli, a renowned brand of magazine. It shall be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the prestigious Altman Building in the heart of Chelsea in Manhattan, New York City.

 

 

Who Will Be There?

 

The festival would feature 10 award-winning celebrity chefs who are: Master Chef Sanjeev Kapoor, Floyd Cardoz , Vikas Khanna (ifood.tv chef), Jehangir Mehta (former runner-up on “The Next Iron Chef”), Hemant Mathur, Prasad Chirnomula, Hari Nayak (ifood.tv chef), Maneet Chauhan (former contestant on “The Next Iron Chef”), Walter D’Rozario and Peter Beck.

Besides, the Varli Food Festival also boasts of an enviable line-up of more than 30 Indian restaurants, from all over NYC like Tamarind, Devi, Junoon, Pranna, Tulsi, etc, who would entice the guests with delicious food and dessert tastings.

 

What To Do:

 

 The Varli Food Festival promises to be the best opportunity for New York City residents to sample some of the finest desserts, pastries, wine and liquor and more. There are wine pairings, a full bar, live music and entertainment to go with cooking demonstrations by celebrity chefs.

One of the highlights of the festival will be a live cooking show, to be hosted by Sanjeev Kapoor, of the famous cooking show “Khana Khazana”, who is often credited with revolutionizing the culinary scene in India in the past two decades. Besides, there will be cookbook signing by select chefs and a documentary will be screened on Indian Cuisines.

 

A Silent Call For Charity:

 

The organizers are also keen to give the event a touch of charity with a silent auction, which will include a variety of restaurant gift certificates, private cooking classes with the chefs and much more.

The Varli magazine has joined hands with the Food Bank for New York City to donate 10% of the proceeds from the ticket sales and 100% of proceeds from cookbook sales to the charity.

 

Tickets:

 

Tickets to the Varli Food Festival are priced at $100 and these include full access to the festival along with a Gift Certificates book worth over $500 in discounts, to be availed at the participating restaurants.
