Humble by nature, right from the start of his career he had shown the world the spark and hunger in him to score runs; and after such a long journey he has attained nothing less than a cult status in the cricketing arena. He also commands respect from all time greats like Michael Schumacher and Tiger Woods. ‘Fear’ lies in the eyes of the ‘bowlers’ who bowls at him. Yes, this is quite true for all the bowlers who have faced the wrath of the little master blaster - Sachin Tendulkar and got devoured. Sachin Tendulkar is well known for his fondness for gastronomic delights; especially sea food. He loves to gorge on any and every kind of fish preparation cooked at home. He is also very fond of steaks and Thai food. Apart from his appetite for sixes and fours that he smashes around the stadiums, Sachin has a soft corner for Bengali food too; though only a few privileged people know about it. One of his favorite dishes is Lobster cooked in Bengali style. He is also known to have a sweet tooth, especially for cheesecakes and Alphonso mangoes.


Recently in a nationwide poll, people voted him as the healthiest and happiest Indian. So, what is the secret of his health and fitness? Abstinence is the key! He is well aware of the fact that cricketers don’t need any special diet to perform well in cricket matches. However, he ensures that his diet and food intake includes 40% carbohydrate, 30% fat and 30% protein. This breakdown provides the required fuel to boost his performance without putting on unnecessary fat or weight. Though he loves tasty food, he is quite conscious of what he eats and does breathing exercises to ward off stress. He firmly believes that playing cricket is the best form of fitness. He also does yoga, meditation, pranayam, gym and even aerobics. In cricket age doesn’t matter, fitness matters. Expect more fireworks from Sachin’s willow for years to come.
