Thanksgiving cooking tips, anyone? Were you looking for any? By the way, whatever you are cooking smells, real good. But you need help and that is why I'm writing this post. Right now, in my home, the children are running around, the turkey is still in the oven, my cousins are drinking beer and playing pool. Thanksgiving is definitely the time to give thanks to the fact that, how amazingly you are blessed with family and friends.
It is already Thanksgiving and it wouldn't make sense for me to give you tips like how to clean the turkey or how to plan the menu ahead. You would have already figured out those things by now. You would probably having guests in your house right now. What you need right now would be practical advice on last minute cooking, on how to manage the food and the people around it.

Do not worry too much about the turkey inside the oven. I know that you want to pull off that perfect Turkey this year, but you've got to relax. Go check on the other food that is cooking.

When you have kids in the house, make sure that you have an adult keeping an eye on them. You don't want them to playfully open the oven and burn their soft little hands, do you? If possible, use ovens that are kid-proof.

Have fire extinguishers handy. You'll never know what will happen when there are too many people in your kitchen.

You might be really adamant about baking your own pumpkin pie, but it helps, if you anticipate pie shortage and buy some pies from the baker.

Do not let people crowd around food while serving. Have just a couple of people to serve the food.

Do not let the children to dig into their Thanksgiving turkey without washing their hands.

Always have extra plates and glasses for the guests.

Do not waste the leftovers. You can refrigerate them soon after or giving to the homeless people.

Do not eat the leftovers that smell and taste different. Discard them, right away.

To clean up the house after the Thanksgiving dinner, accept all the help offered to assist you. You don't have to be ashamed to accept help.
