Actually Don Far Tong (Egg Drop soup) is a Chinese soup even the name is phoenetic Chinese (Cantonese) Don Far Tong is typical in Guangdong region including also Hong Kong style IE very mild taste. Typical Thai soups are Tom Yum Goong (Hot & Sour Shrimp Soup) and Tom Kha Gai (Chicken Coconut Milk Soup) are two very popular Thai Soups. Here are many other yummy Thai soup recipes on my site: http://www.bellaonline.com/subjects/5236.asp and Shanti/Mary-Anne

Khanom Jin Namya Curry is a popular lunch for many busy Thais, and it is also a traditional meal for Thai New Year’s/Songkran. You can make it yourself , or use an easy and tasty Namya Curry paste from the tin or tub available at Asian Markets. I like both Mae Sri and Mae Ploy Brands of Namya and add tuna fish nd coconut milk. I garnish with Thai basil leaves, sometimes it is served with many other vegetable garishes. Another Thai favourite which I do NOT make or eat is Chicken Feet & Spicy Noodles ( Kao Noom Jean Nam Ya Tin Gay). No thank you. I know all over China and SE Asia chicken feet are loved, but quite honestly they are worthless to me-all those bones and chewy stuff. They are popular at breakfast and for dim sum in China. Variation on Namya-Nam Ngiew Namya Curry-use thin rice vermicelli (Wun Sen) in place of somen type noodles Shanti/Mary-Anne
