Taco Bell’s ‘Speedo’ Response To FB Post
It is a well known fact that the taco chain, Taco Bell, is the most cooperative brand on social media parameters. The company is always quick to respond to humorous correspondence that is carried on by its followers on social network websites. Now, a Reddit post on Facebook has earned the company even more good marks from its loyal customers.
It so happened that a Reddit user ‘frogdog420’, identified as 15-year-old Ryan Klarner, put up a Facebook post in which he made an offbeat request. The user wrote, “Is there any way you guys could make me a customized Speedo that says ‘think outside the buns’ on the back of it? If you did, that would mean the world to me.” Klarner also gave, in the post, a rundown on his swimming achievements, probably, to justify his special request.
Taco Bell’s director of digital and social engagement Tressie Lieberman admitted that the request was a ‘new one’ although the company keeps receiving a lot of comments, requests and criticism from its 9.5 million online fans. Thanks to the fact that the company identifies the power of social media marketing, Taco Bell has sent a favorable response to Klarner’s request.
The company has granted the request and also asked Klarner for his size and address. Justifying the company’s response, Lieberman said, “He (Klarner) really wanted something and he went after it. When we think people are really extraordinary… then we want to reward them.”
As a result, Klarner will be getting, not one, but two Speedos, one with “Think Outside the Bun” and the other with “Live Mas”, written on it.
Not surprising then that Taco Bell will be Klarner’s favorite fast food chain for a long time to come, or for as long as the Speedos last.
