pour some whiskey on me!

You have no problem lending an ear to those in need. But when they come back for seconds (without taking your advice), you’re apt to tell them to shut their cake hole.

That’s basically what Trilly Nguyen did. In a much more tactful way.

In response to her sister’s recurring (and seemingly never-ending) troubles, the Oakland-based baker saved her breath and started whisking up delectable cakes and cookies instead. Soon, she was catering to neighbors, friends, and anyone else hungry for sweet counseling. And the Whiskie Bits Bakeshop was in business.

Nguyen prescribes exotic flavors for every issue. Battle office snitches with masala chai cookies; cure heartbreak with heirloom tomato cupcakes. When the going gets really tough, go for Whiskie Bits sour cupcakes — malt whiskey cake made with sweet potatoes, Asian spices, and hazelnuts, and topped with whiskey sour cream cheese frosting.

And feel free to help yourself.
