Stir-fried ‘Wikipedia’… Anyone?
South Silk Road (cha ma gu dao), a restaurant on Hou Hai lake at the center of Beijing is unique restaurant in many aspects.
It is a beautiful restaurant with a great menu and the most unique thing is that it serves Wikipedia in many special preparations be it stir-fried or steamed along with eggs, pimientos and all…!!
Those who have dined there have often tried to find out the wonderful mystery behind this special dish and here is how most think that ‘wikipedia’ came to be on the menu.
Conversation between the restaurant staff: (the origin of wikipedia recipe)
X : "Hey I'm making the new menu, what's the English name for those flat crispy mushrooms?"
Y: "Um, there isn't one."
X: "Well what should I put down here?"
Y: "I don't know, look it up in wikipedia."
X: "What?"
Y: "Wikipedia!"
