BE CAREFUL WHILE EATING APPLES
Please don't eat the skin of the apple because it's coated with wax
Check before you eat many of the fruits.
WAX is being used as preservation purposes and then cold stored.
You might be surprised especially apples from USA and other parts are more than one year old, though it would look fresh.
Wax is coated to prevent bacteria from entering the apples. So that it does not get dry.

One of my friends from India sent this mail about apples. I just thought of confirming the same using the store bought apple. I was surprised to see that whatever the mail said is true. I took the following picture at home.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

I would like someone else to confirm this if possible and to verify that the powder that I got from scrubbing the apple is really wax or something else.

I bought an apple from Super Target yesterday after reading you blog. I tried to scrape the skin using a butter knife and to my utter disbelief, I found the powdery substance coming off from the skin. Though am not very sure if it is wax or something else!

To chk it is wax just heat the powder, it will melt, u can then soak a cotton wick n then light it just like a candle. QED
