Some basic rules for cheese boards

 ·       Cheese is one of the truly great foods.High in protein,rich in calcium and vitamins A and D,cheese is loved for its versatility. 

·       The secret to a good cheeseboard is to offer a variety of decent- sized pieces of cheese.It is better to offer three or four good sized pieces than eight or nine smaller portions.Not only will your cheeseboard look more attractive but also the cheese will retain flavour and freshness better. 

·       A general guide is to allow at least 20 gms of each type of cheese per person. 

·       For a basic cheeseboard or platter,offer a cheddar,a blue cheese and a camembert or brie with plain crackers or crusty bread.You can also addfresh fruits-apple,pear,grapes,fresh dates or dried fruits and nuts, all of which go well with cheese.

 ·       Ideally each cheese should have its own knife so that individual flavour of each cheese is retained.
