Nervous System Disorder

Eating mercury contaminated tuna adversely affects the nervous system of the body and the person may exhibit following symptoms

Adverse Effect On Heart

Tuna is considered healthy for heart but tuna contaminated with mercury and other heavy metals outweighs the positive effects of omega-3 fatty acids. It thus increases the risk of several cardiovascular disorders.

 

Unsafe for Pregnant And Nursing Women

All the side effects of tuna which are associated with mercury and heavy metal deposition appear in the infant. If pregnant or nursing women consume tuna, there is an increased risk of developmental disorder in brain and nervous system of the infant.

 

Increased Risk Of Cancer

Individuals consuming mercury contaminated tuna have more chances of developing cancer.

To be on the safer side, one should be aware of such species and minimize the consumption of tuna with high mercury deposits.
