Heartburn & Acid Reflux
Excessive consumption of tomato is known to trigger heartburn. In severe cases, it weakens the esophageal muscles and triggers the acid production in stomach causing acid reflux.
Tomato Leaves Are Unsafe
Tomato as a fruit is safe to eat in any from but the leaves are known to be poisonous. If consumed in large amount, it can cause:

- Mild spasm
If not taken care of, the consumption of leaf may even turn fatal in some cases.

Tomato is safe if eaten in adequate quantity, but being acidic in nature, its excessive consumption may cause gastritis and peptic ulcers. One should remain cautious and avoid its over consumption.
