The tap water in New York City is some of the purest, healthiest water on the planet so the bottles being filled with tap water is not a bad thing. The bad thing is that no matter how pure the water is once it goes into a plastic bottle it's worse for you than any tap water in the US.

I remember the story about huge about of traces of medication and fertilizers in city-tab water, so I do not think that is so great to drink.
In the medication group, they were talking about antibiotics, anti-depression meds, etc. No good! Especially for kids it is not safe!
