Shanghai’s World Chocolate Wonderland Showcases Chocolate Art!
The Chinese city of Shanghai witnessed the opening of a yummy theme park on the 16th of December, 2011. The city got a ‘World Chocolate Wonderland’ where each and every displayed item was made from chocolate. The grand opening started with a bang with various models strutting around in chocolate made attire. While the garments were ‘good enough to eat’, the viewers were actually left spellbound as they witnessed a BMW made entirely of chocolate as well as ancient Chinese symbols which included the traditional dragon.
The crisp chocolate was made malleable by the addition of other ingredients which resulted in a wonderful material that could be easily pulled into shape and the artists had a field day creating life like replicas with more than 200 different types of chocolates.
Lets take a look at the various artifacts that will be on display at the ‘World Chocolate Wonderland’ at Shanghai.
Chinese Warriors

500 Chinese warriors fashioned out of chocolate in exquisite detail looked similar to the terracotta made ones.
‘Great Wall of China’

It was only fitting that the ‘Great Wall of China’, a wonder of the world, would be depicted at the Wonderland in chocolatey details.
Chinese Porcelain

The unique porcelain of China also found a place at the theme park where the brilliant artistry of master craftsmen was captured lovingly in sugar.
BMW

The huge life like BMW model crafted from a whopping 80 tons of Belgian chocolate, saw viewers flocking to it with many youngsters eager to pose in front of the chocolate vehicle.
Local Landmarks

The local landmarks were not forgotten either and the viewers cried out in delight to identify the city’s well known edifices and marks being duplicated in chocolate.
Meditating Buddha

The benign presence of Buddha meditating in a corner proved to a have a calming effect as many viewers bowed before the small statue created painstakingly out of chocolate.
The exhibition will be on until the 19th of February next year and the organizers are hoping to surpass the number of viewers at Beijing last year where a similar exhibition had been held.
